Ed, of Ed’s Apples, Husmann has lived in Sultan Washington for over 25 years. He began his farming when he bought 23 acres in 1983. With the help of WSU Extension and several fellow orchardists he began grafting the original 500 trees. When retiring in 1999 after 30 years of service as Captain with United Airlines – and also retiring from the US Navy as Naval Air Commander he has been putting all his energy in producing apples.

Ed and his wife Roxanne maintain over 600 trees now along with blueberries and some other fruit trees on their 23 acres. “These trees are his babies” says Roxanne. “He is truly a farmer at heart”. Ed’s 10 year teaching experience comes out when he gives pruning lessons. Everything is done with careful and precise thought to the health and outcome of the tree and the environment around them.

Our greatest reward is providing healthy tree ripened fruit to our customers at an affordable price.
